Hotels in Mangalore - Summer Sands Beach Resort

Karnataka's first and only resort; 'Summer Sands Beach Resort' is a resort of the 21st Century.

It is a resort, which teaches you the 'art of living' - an art, which in this computerized instant age, humanity, is fast forgetting.

Located in a spreading campus well over 500 palms, plenty of flowering plants, birds and even Dolphin course by the 1000 running feet of beachfront. It's a quiet retreat frequented by artists, writers, creative people who want to rejuvenate in natural surroundings. There is no hint of sophistication.

The service is friendly and the prices reasonable. Special discounts are offered to the Senior Citizens, disabled and students.

A fiery queen, a kingdom by the sea and now a most unusual Beach Resort "SUMMER SANDS" nestles in an arcadia of palms, abounding with bird song. Dolphins are a familiar sight along this 1000 ft. beachfront. Cozy Mangalore red tiled villas, a palm fringed pool, and the almost alfresco restaurants breathe out peace and serenity. While there is plenty of sport, you can opt for a bicycle hike to numerous lagoons that meander to the sea, or a beach trek along the unending coast line. At low tide pick cockles off the riverbed or watch chameleon sunsets from the heights of Someshwar rock.

A place of pristine pleasures that make it a regular haunt for artists, writers and creative people. Savor Konkan cuisine, spicy when it rains, subtle in summer. Wedged between Goa and Kerala, Summer Sands is the ideal destination.

Day trips to St.Mary's Isle a basalt columnar wonder or to the Bekal Fort a massive structure on a cliff overhanging the sea, while a day in the city of Mangalore with its 1000-year-old monuments are all enjoyable experiences. Special facilities for the physically disabled, students and senior citizens make it a resort with a heart.
