About Hotel Umed Bhawan Palace

Umed Bhawan Palace exudes an aura distinctly its own, suggesting the hues of the nearby desert. Steeped in history, the Palace Hotel subtly blends Rajput and Victorian architecture. Lush lawns and courtyards, picturesque ceilings, marble corridors, treasure troves, hunting trophies of yesteryears along with exquisite royal heirlooms complete the regal picture. Every visiting dignitary, including Queen Mary, who visited Kotah state in 1905, has been entertained at the Umed Bhawan.

City Information

Kota happens to be an army headquarters and Rajasthan’s premier industrial center, Kota is equally well known for its Kota doria saris and miniature paintings that often depict hunting scenes. Kethun is the weaver’s village where the Kota doria saris are actually weaved. There is an enchanting palace on a little island in the middle of an artificial lake. The fort and part of the palace complex are open to the public. So while holidaying in Kota do not forget to visit the landmarks like the City Palace & Fort and the Rao Madho Singh Museum. The Rao Madho Singh museum is reputed to be one of the best in Rajasthan. Close to Kota at a distance of thirty-eight kms is the Taragarh Fort, which is worth visiting. Darrah Wildlife Sanctuary makes another excellent excursion from Kota. Kaleidoscopic Kota beckons one and all.
