The Punnamada Backwater Resort offers accommodation in 3 room types namely Lake View, Duplex Villa, and Standard Villas. The Lake View Villas are on the banks, and command a charming view of the lake. The interiors are set in the traditional mould to maintain warmth and comfort. The Duplex Villas are also set in a traditional environment. These Villas have an upper deck where the bedroom is set, capturing the winds and an aerial view of the property. The lower deck houses the wardrobe, the living area, a mini bar and the bathroom. The Standard Villas are also built to reflect the exquisite hospitality the resort offers. Each Villa has a different setting with amenities like television, mini bar and garden bathroom.

During the month of August-September, the backwaters become crowded with thousands of spectators and a large number of competitors who come to participate in the famous Nehru Trophy boat race. The long boats, designed to resemble snakes, can accommodate 120 people, making two rows of 60 each. The energy, coordination, and the feeling of getting ahead in the competition make this game quite engrossing.
